“ Dial 1298 for Ambulance" aim is to provide a network of fully Equipped Advanced and Basic Life Support Ambulances in the city of Mumbai  

In case of a medical emergency, any Mumbai resident may dial 1298 (from any landline of mobile network) for accessing a fully equipped Advanced/ Basic Life Support Ambulance within the shortest possible time .

  • Dial 1298 for Ambulance has divided Mumbai city into various zones and service is operational with one Ambulance stationed in each zone.




  • On receiving a call, the control room immediately locates the area to be reached on GPS (Global Positioning System) enabled Map.




  • The nearest free Ambulance is dispatched immediately and tracked on RTS (Realtime Tracking System) to ensure that the Ambulance reaches the patient / victim in the shortest possible time.
 


We provide two types of Ambulances:

 

Advances life support (ALS)/ Cardiac Ambulance is Tempo Traveller equipped with :

  • Defibrillator
  • E. C. G
  • Cardiac Monitor
  • Ventilator
  • Suction machine
  • Resuscitation kit
  • Pulse Oxymete
  • Oxygen Cylinder
  • Syringe Pump
  • Nebuliser for Asthematic patients
  • Basic equipments like stethoscope, BP apparatus etc
  • Emergency Medicines  / Injections
  • Various Splints
  • Collapsible stretcher and Scoop Stretcher
  • Canvas Stretcher
  • Stair chair cum Wheel chair

The Ambulance has air-conditioning, mild sound proofing and the silicon sealing in joints.

The Cardiac Ambulance crew has Doctors/ Paramedics/ Medical Consultant trained to US and UK standards in a 12 month Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Service (PGDEMS)

In addition it also has a Driver and a Helper trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and expertise in Navigation and Safety

The Basic Life Support Ambulance is either a Tempo Traveller or Maruti Omni, equipped with the following :

  • Collapsible stretcher
  • Scoop Stretcher
  • Canvas Stretcher
  • Stair chair cum Wheel chair
  • Oxygen Cylinder
  • First Aid Box
  • Various Splints
The Basic Ambulance crew usually consists of a Driver and Helpers who are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and expertise in Navigation and Safety
